In our latest real estate tech entrepreneur interview, we’re speaking with James Call, the founder of RealtyCandy.
Without further ado…
What do you do?
RealtyCandy develops plugins, and web-based software that allows users of IDX Broker to get more out of their IDX and their WordPress sites, and nurture their real estate leads to becoming clients.
We have a few tools that have been pretty big hits. Similar Listings, Nearby Listings, and Community Data Graphs have made a number of clients happy because they keep visitors on our client’s real estate sites looking for more.
What problem does your product/service solve?
One common problem on real estate websites is that visitors don’t feel any engagement or perceived value from the site. With our IDX Addons like Similar Listings, Nearby Listings, and Community Data Graphs, we find that our clients keep visitors active on the site.
We have also seen sites like HobokenNJ.com leverage these tools to get great Google page rank. If you go to Google and type in “Hoboken Real Estate”, you can see that our client was able to outrank Zillow, Trulia, and Realtor.com for their search term by building out great content pages and keeping visitors engaged.
What are you most excited about right now?
Right now we are excited about LeaderCRM. This is a new tool we are developing that is a simple, fast, and friendly way for clients to keep in touch with their IDX leads. Instead of leads just signing up and falling into oblivion, clients get text alerts for new leads, and text alerts for returning visits of those leads. Agents can quickly text, call, or email their IDX contacts right from the app.
What’s next for you?
Over the next few months, we will be adding more IDX Addons, quick customization tools for IDX Broker, and we will be adding even more follow-up tools to LeaderCRM that allow our clients to use text and email to nurture their clients.
What’s a cause you’re passionate about and why?
I live in St. George Utah near Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, and the Grand Canyon, so it is truly an outdoor “Disneyland”. I love to go out hiking, biking, rock climbing, and kayaking with my family.
I have started CodigoBueno.org to promote coding skills in young people in Mexico. This helps them be able to stay close to their family and be able to participate in the international market for coders. We did a fun “hackathon” this summer and gave away some great prizes at a university in northern Mexico, and we expect to return every summer to help these students develop their personal skills, their personal economy, and their local economies.
Thanks to James for sharing his story. If you’d like to connect, find him on LinkedIn here.
