In our latest real estate tech entrepreneur interview, we’re speaking with Sander van de Rijdt, the founder of PlanRadar. PlanRadar was one of the three startups who advanced from the startup competition at the mipim summit in New York.
Without further ado…
What do you do?
PlanRadar is a cloudbased SaaS solution for innovative construction documentation, task and defect management in construction and real estate projects. Today there are in each project in average 1-2 defects per 10m². Our solution with web access and native apps for all kind of mobile devices supports the user in recording, documentation, communication and tracking of tasks and defects.
What problem does your product/service solve?
Major problems solved are
- the annoying and inefficient recording of tasks and defects via notes, pictures, voice recording, endless Excel lists, etc.
- the inefficient communication with other project stakeholders via phone, mails, etc. and to have everybody on the same page.
- the unsatisfying adjustment of defects and additional costs because of incomplete communication, inconsistent versioning and information opacity.
- the billions of Euro lost by companies every year because they cannot claim their rights due to lack of documentation.
Based on a survey with our users, they save in average seven working hours per week using PlanRadar. This are ca. 18% of their working time.
Companies have a ROI of more than 900% not considering the savings from avoiding unsatisfying adjustments and subsequent issues.
What are you most excited about right now?
Winning the mipim proptech summit 2017 in NYC and having at the moment more than 100 new registrations of companies every single week, that like to work with PlanRadar.
What’s next for you?
We will be category leader in our segment in Europe and worldwide one of the leading companies providing AI for day to day operations on construction sites.
What’s a cause you’re passionate about and why?
Team sports – especially football and volleyball. You can build and extend your social network and can make friends everywhere around the world very easily. Also youth players learn how to win and lose together and sometimes you even lose, although you have done everything perfect. This is a very good experience of life.
